Don't you just love a good buy? Seriousy, If you don't thrift shop, you're really missing out.
You see, this dress was pre-destined to be mine, Wanna know why?
1. It was my size, and that's very unusual, as I have to take in most of my thrifted dresses. in this case, however, I only had to cut and hem to my desired length. I did a blind hem by hand because I was way too lazy to dig my sewing machine out of my messy sewing closet.
2. It was the perfect shade of pink, a very sophisticated one and one that I unconsciously have been buying all summer.
3. It matched my favorite sandals! I can't help it though, those sandals are so comfortable! Not long ago, I danced the whole night in them.
I can't wait to show you my other finds, but I'm sure you would be envious!
If you are new to sewing or don't know how to blind hem, follow this video tutorial I found on YouTube.
By the way, if you ever decide to go (with me) on a scavenger hunt, below I'll give you the few places I frequent:
Joe's
1474 Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11237
(The best place for high-end brand name clothes and jeans, truly my favorite)
Salvation Army
Any and every single one.
(Try to find and take advantage of the daily color deals. Each day a different color tag is 50% off)
Savers
7001 Sunrise Hwy
Holbrook, NY 11741 map
(a little pricier than Salvation Army, but you would find unworn clothes with tags)
